Dog's Best Friend Training staff Shawna Richgels

For Shawna Richgels 2003 was a busy year - not only did she join the DBF staff as an agility instructor and an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, but Lexie, her Boxer made her stage debut in Shakespeare's The Two Gentlemen of Verona with American Players Theatre. Lexie (Lexus Molly's Angel AXJ, OA, OJP, NAC, NJC, TN-N, UAGI, CGC) also won many agility titles and is on her way to earning her CD in obedience. Although Shawna's other Boxer, Otto, (Zeak's Autobahn RN, NA, NAJ) was surrendered to rescue as "untrainable" he has since gone on to win several agility titles. Both Otto and Lexie are featured in the 2005 children's book "Eye to Eye with Dogs - Boxers" by Lynn Stone.

Shawna devotes many hours helping with Boxers in need of a new home. She is a board member of Green Acres Boxer Rescue and has helped with fostering many Boxers in her home and also transporting surrendered dogs across the area.

In 2006, Crush (Hob Nob Steam Roller) the Border Collie, joined the family. Shawna shares her home with her horses Miracle and Charlie, several cats and her incredible baby girl, Finley. Her husband, Pat, is the glue that holds the whole gang together. As a board member of Green Acres Boxer Rescue, Shawna devotes time fostering and transporting surrendered dogs.
